So many tequila tasting factories and so little time. Cozumel – the best tequila and the absolute best snorkeling. I love this island. Everyone is so nice. The food is amazing. The snorkeling is like an
aquarium.
We’ve stopped in Cozumel probably half a dozen times and there are probably a million things you can do. It varies so much. After a few hits and misses, we found a true gem. When our son was younger, we dragged him onto all the islands from the cruise ships. He wasn’t always thrilled… ( think screaming kid). On one stop into Cozumel, we were getting ready and our son put his foot down and said he
wasn’t going. We looked each other and had a “Mommy & Daddy talk”. It was this kids vacation too. Heck, let’s let him stay in Kids Club and we’ll go off to the Island ourselves. ( Much more about cruise
ship kids clubs later).
We stepped off the ship and found our way to Club Caribe (aka Buccannos). This hotel is being converted into Condos ( please let me retire here). During the construction, Club Caribe opens it’s
beach, pool, the lower level restaurant, and it’s tequila museum to visitors. We’ve visited them 5 times and each time everything is wonderful.
Cozumel has the best snorkeling and the rocky coast line in some areas, like Club Caribe, has the friendliest fish. When I say “friendly” – Think Nemo and all his friends swimming around you cheering you on for more treats! The current on that side of the island moves you along without even moving your feet. You just float. And float. And float. The when you reach the beach, you get out and walk to the other end and hop in the water again. And you float. And float. And float. My go-pro card is full of Cozumel treasures.
Now, did I mention tequila tasting and jewelry? One goes hand in hand. I’m fortunate to be married to one of the best humans on Earth. And bringing him to a tequila tasting at Club Caribe and then causally strolling through the jewelry store .. might have been the smartest thing this gal has ever done! The store actually sends him emails each year…. More about shopping later!
